Iron Sights – The Practical Benefits | By: John Haviland

In the May 2013 edition of Rifle Sporting Firearms Journal author John Haviland talks about The Practical Benefits of iron sights. In this article Haviland talks iron sight solutions, and puts the XS Sights ghost-ring aperture and visible white front stripe to the test on his Winchester Model 94 Legacy. He compares at 100 and 200-yards the accuracy of XS Sights versus using a scope and determines, “That sight weights but an ounce and provides one to two pounds of relief for a heavy rifle. With no scope protruding above a rifle like a sail on a ship, it also adds maneuverability. Plus, iron sights are steadfast.”
